Beyond the Emergency: Rebuilding Dignity, One Family at a Time

By Corina Guzman

For years, Impaktemos has been committed to developing sustainable educational initiatives in Venezuela, with an active presence in La Guaira, where we have maintained social programs and organized vacation camps for children. That close relationship with the community is now the foundation from which we are responding.

While rescue teams continue working to save lives following the recent earthquakes, we have responded on two critical fronts.

During the most urgent phase of the emergency, we supported operations in La Guaira by providing rescue equipment, power generators, Starlink satellite antennas to help maintain communications, and essential emergency medical supplies.

But we know the crisis does not end when rescue operations are completed.

That is when the most complex challenge begins: standing beside families who have lost everything as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

With that vision, we created a 90-day Humanitarian Response Plan, structured in groups of 100 people. Each group provides:

  • 27,000 meals;

  • clean water and hydration supplies;

  • hygiene kits;

  • basic healthcare assistance;

  • clothing;

  • mattresses;

and one essential component that defines our mission: comprehensive human support.

Trained volunteers provide emotional support, recreational activities, and Educational Recovery Days, because restoring safe spaces for learning and community connection is also a vital part of healing.

This model requires an investment of $17.21 per person per day. Supporting one group for three months represents a cost of $154,890, and we are currently seeking $76,000 to cover the most urgent initial needs.

Every donation directly becomes food, medicine, or a clean sheet for a displaced family.

We believe transparency is not an option, it is a professional standard.

For that reason, we are developing a dedicated accountability section on our website, supported by respected Venezuelan business leaders and a logistics network of 11 to 12 schools with more than 50 years of history, which are now serving as secure collection and distribution centers throughout Venezuela.

We are convinced that the most transformative humanitarian support does more than provide resources.

It accompanies.

It listens.

It educates.

It restores hope.

Because rebuilding a community begins by recognizing the dignity of every individual and walking alongside them until they are able to stand again.
